Visa Information

Besides your passport, you will probably need an invitation letter of the university in Guangzhou in order to get a visa. We will send you such a letter if you complete the invitation letter request form. We are only familiar with visa procedures for German citizens travelling to China, but we assume the situation is similar for other nationalities. In Germany, visa applications for China have to be made in person at the Chinese embassy in Berlin. But it is possible to hire an agency doing it for you. This should take about two weeks.

Requests for invitation letters are independent from conference registration, since processing a visa may be time consuming.

Travel Information

The German office of foreign affairs recommends the following vaccinations for China: tetanus, diphtheria, polio und hepatitis A. The province Guangdong is a malaria area, so you should use mosquito repellents as precaution. It might be a good idea to ask for additional medical advice (risk of infection, medicaments to prevent infection, medicaments to take with you,...). Travel agencies often provide further information about climate and about precautions.
